Yes it’s a real thing that I never thought I would experience. It’s one of those things you hear about, but trick your brain into thinking it won’t happen to you.
Well all moms- young, old, new, co-parenting, foster, adoptive, working, stay-at-home… and all the others feel it. That constant worry that we should have done something different. I should have stayed home, I should have went to work, I should have ordered dinner, I should have cooked. I should have done laundry.
It’s a never ending cycle of getting caught up in the thought that doing something small for ourselves is selfish. Instead we should be doing something 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓉𝒽𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓁𝑒 or 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 to make our lives easier.
If you have those thoughts or worries, also known as mom guilt, then you are far from being selfish. You are far from being a bad mom. In fact, you must be one hell of a mom.
